Blackened Double-Ended Steel Awl (Patterned)

$58.00

6" x .25". A high-carbon steel tool with a sharp point at one end, a tiny ball at the other. This tool has been subjected to an decorative blackening, oxidizing process and has been turned and stamped with a pattern. The most often used tool in my kit. It is heat treated and comes in handy for scoring, ruling, burnishing, loosening threads, punching holes, enlarging holes, scribing and marking. Used by binders, conservators, printmakers and even by a fella who does work on antique ash trays!

If it gets wet, please dry thoroughly before storing, as it will rust if left damp.

Should the point become dull it may be resharpened.
